Our BeadLock™ is not sold as a runflat, but several test experiences lead
us to believe that it has "limp flat" capabilities.
What destroys flat tires is driving on them. This flexes and
pinches the rubber, the synthetic cords and the steel belts to the point of
heating and tearing the tire apart. Note the tight
folds and bends on the conventional mechanical bead locked flat.
With this, you also stand a very good chance of destroying your
expensive rim. The Staun BeadLock "cushions" the tire and rim by
virtue of the inner tube and polyester
Cap. This offers (careful)
low speed tire and rim protection, and we'll report our high
speed findings just as soon as they are in. (Register
for High Speed test results)
Although our BeadLock is not a run-flat, tests have
shown that it certainly offer some degree of protection for both the tire and
rim. It lets you limp back to camp "less tire-and-rim destructively"
when needed
Thank you Brian Jensen and Eric Jordan for the the
"tire" poses.
