Truckhaven for the sane.

WHAT: The challenging Truckhaven Hills are a maze of trails that run from the sublime to the ridiculous.  We’ll leave the ridiculous for the real adrenaline junkies and concentrate on improving our skills.  This trip offers a tamer version of the past Truckhaven Treks, but still maintains a black diamond rating.  We'll climb up and down huge hills, cruise twisty, off-camber washes and ravines, while visiting the 17 Palms Oasis, the Calcite Mine and Locomotive Rock.

Saturday night we’ll camp in the desert, have a potluck dinner and relive the day’s videoed adventures on a portable TV. Both Saturday afternoon and Sunday will be hands-on, skills-learning days, taking time to demonstrate proper equipment usage.
